THIS WEEKS RECIPES

This weeks recipe is from our dear friend, Lynn, who worked here for 30 years! We miss her a
lot, but she still shares her recipes with us.  One of the girls made this recipe this week and told
me it would be great for the newsletter. So thanks to Lynn we have a great cookie recipe!

1 cup white sugar
1 cup margarine
1 egg
3 1/2 cups flour
1 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
1 cup Rice Krispies

1 t. sour or sweet milk

SERVICE PROJECTS

This week we received an enormous bag full of cute "stuffies" for foster kids! Thank you so
much! These bring so much joy to these children!

"STUFFIES" FOR KIDS
Country Needleworks is happy to join with the Department of Human Services to collect Beanie
Babies or other small stuffed animals for children entering foster care. The stuffies will be given to
children who are being removed from their home due to neglect or abuse. This gives them a
comfort object to hold while they are driven to their new foster home.

Beanie Baby type "stuffies" are easily washed and stored, so they would be preferred, but the
brand name does not matter. New or gently used are fine. It doesn’t matter if the tags are still
attached.

Donations made to the Department of Human Services are tax deductible, so if you have a large
collection you would like to donate please contact Wendy Wheeler (Jerri’s daughter) and she can
arrange for you to get a receipt. wheelerw@michigan.gov or 616 558-7841

Thank you for bringing a smile to the face of a child during a very difficult time.
