This week has been a busy week in our yarn dept. So much activity! Lots of new models,
some new yarn, and of course good times at our Knitting Socials!
This new yarn is called Mega Tweed.
Classic tweeds take on a whole new life in

THIS WEEKS RECIPE
This weeks recipe is from Cher, who has left for three months for Florida. She left us
some very good recipes in her absence. She has tried every recipe and thought you
might enjoy them. Thanks Cher!
COLORFUL VEGGIE BAKE
1 small head cauliflower
1 bunch broccoli
4 carrots sliced
1 jar pearl onions (optional)
1 can water chestnuts - cut in half
8 oz. Velvetta cheese
6 T. butter, divided
2/3 cup crushed butter flavored Ritz crackers
(You may use 2 16 oz. bags of California blend Veggies if desired)
Cook veggies. Place 1/2 into an ungreased 11 x 7 or 9 x 13 pan, depending on how
many veggies you have.
In small sauce pan combine cheese and butter (4T.) cook and stir over low heat until
melted. Pour half over veggies, repeat layer. Melt remaining butter and toss with cracker
crumbs. Sprinkle over top. Bake uncovered @ 325º for 20-25 minutes or until golden
brown. Serves 8-10. Enjoy!

We've had a request for your help with this Service Project.
February is American Heart Month.
We need your help in knitting 1000 newborn hats out of cotton or acrylic yarn
in the color red by January 21, 2015. (must be machine washable).
This project is to raise awareness of babies born with congenital heart defects.
These hats will be distributed to local hospitals.
Many thanks to all of you who are bringing in red newborn hats for the Mending Little
We have already collected 239 hats!
130 of these hats were donated by Marian Stella and Barb Lutzke and
67 were donated by the "Charity Heart and Comfort" group!
You are all so generous with your time and talents for a great cause!
Donations for other service projects:
This week we would like to thank Patricia Rapp who brought in a huge bag of mittens
and scarves for Cast off the Cold. They sure need these items in this cold weather!
We would also like to thank Sherry Hettinga who brought in a big bag of quilts for
