| CAST OFF THE COLD |
Cast Off the Cold is a Rockford, Mi. based charity knitting organization that has gathered and donated over 1200 hand-knit items. With extremely cold temperatures we need your help! Country Needlewroks is our newest collection site for your convenience. Knitters: We’d like to start social knitting groups called “Mitten Knittin’ ”. They will meet Tuesday mornings, 10am-noon and Tuesday evenings, 6-8pm. You will have a few options! First option: We’d like to promote some charity knitting for a wonderful organization called “Cast Off the Cold”. It provides mittens, hats and scarves to homeless people in Grand Rapids through Mel Trotter Mission. As our part of the charity, we would like to donate a free Leisure Arts pattern book and a skein of yarn to the first 20 people who attend our “Mitten Knittin’ ”groups. You don’t have to knit mittens. Hats or scarves would be great. Just bring your own size 5 & 7 straight or double pointed knitting needles. You can attend weekly, twice a month or once a month- no obligation. Just join us. We think you’ll have fun while contributing to a great cause! Second option: You may just come and work on any project you wish and enjoy the company of other knitters, crocheters and stitchers! The first “get together” will be on Tuesday, October 12.
